George Timberlake Obituary

George R. Timberlake

November 3, 1932 - November 7, 2012

George R. Timberlake passed away after a lengthy battle with pulmonary fibrosis. He had an outstanding football career beginning at Jordan High. He was starting center/line backer for Long Beach City College, played linebacker for USC, and played professionally for the Green Bay Packers. His sports honors include being inducted into Long Beach City College Hall of Champions, Long Beach Century Club Hall of Fame and All-American status earned at USC. George was a Long Beach lifeguard and had a successful sales career as western national director for a variety of wholesale distributors. George loved boating, playing handball and golf. He is survived by his wife, Barbara; two sons, and their spouses, Bob (Karen) and Scott (Celeste); two stepchildren, Jennifer and Gary; and five grandchildren. A private memorial service will be held by the family. He was deeply loved and will be forever missed by family and friends. Please sign the guestbook

Barbara,
Thank you so much for calling me about George's death. I have many great menories of George playing handball and winning the Western Regionals with him. My daughter Dakotah graduated from USC and it was George's tour thatmade her decide to go there. I will miss has friendship.
