Gordon R. Logan

Gordon R. Logan Gordon R. Logan, 85, passed away in the comfort of his home in Seal Beach on December 5, 2010. Gordon was born in Lachine, Quebec on February 7, 1925 and moved to Chicago, Illinois as a child. He graduated from Lane Technical High School before enlisting in the Royal Canadian Air Force at age 18. He proudly served in the 429th Squadron and flew 28 missions as radio operator while stationed in Europe during WWII. This time defined his life and he later participated in several reunions of his squadron in Canada. Gordon and his wife, Shirley moved to California in 1946. Gordon worked for Edison before joining Metropolitan LIfe, where he enjoyed a 30 year career. He was an avid golfer and had great success in many tournaments. In these pursuits he earned the respect of many and cemented wonderful lifelong friendships. Gordon is survived by his wife, Shirley Logan and children, Randy Logan, Jeanne Cusack, Lynda Miller, and Brad Logan. He is also survived by 8 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. He is predeceased by grandson, Lucas Campanaro. Gordon will be remembered with love as both Dad and "Grampy". Family and friends are invited to celebrate Gordon's life on Saturday, January 15 from 2-4 p.m. at Trani's Restaurant, 3490 Long Beach Blvd., Long Beach.
