Joseph Kowalski Obituary

Joseph Kowalski joined his beloved wife, Dolores, and eldest son, Larry, with Our Lord on May 2, 2014. He was born in Hamtramck, Michigan January 5, 1923, the only son of Walenty and Apolonia. He joined the Army at the start of WWII and served in the African, European and Pacific Theaters of War. He continued to serve veterans the rest of his life through his work with the Disabled American Veterans. Joseph moved his wife and family to West Covina in 1961. He retired from the Los Angeles School District as a plumber and spent much of his retirement travelling with his wife. He and Dolores were avid Square Dancers in their younger years and loved camping with the West Covina Family Camping Club. He was a bowler and pool player all his life. He was very active with the West Covina Senior Citizens Center. Joseph is survived by his son David and his wife Meredith Kay of Stanwood, Wa, son Michael and his wife Debbie of Glendora, and daughter Debbie Hunt and her husband Mark of Alta Loma as well as 14 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. He will be missed by us all. Memorial Mass will be held Friday May 30, 2014 at Sacred Heart Church, Workman Ave., Covina, CA. Private Interment will follow at Queen of Heaven Cemetery, Rowland Heights.
