Susan Bernice Basler

Susan Bernice Basler 1944 - 2008 Susan died peacefully in her sleep early Saturday morning in her home. She will be remembered as a woman of great courage, hope, love, compassion, and perseverance. Susan tirelessly contributed her energy and passion to numerous organizations, both political and charitable, all throughout her life. With a love of literature and unwavering belief in the power of learning, she brought much joy and knowledge to her students as an elementary classroom aide and later as an elementary school librarian. Susan, an avid reader, lover of good food and wine, was known by all for her quick wit and generosity in all things, especially her laughter and love. Susan will be remembered as a hero to her two children; their spouses; two grandchildren; friends and family. Services will be held at La Venta Inn in Palos Verdes Estates on Friday, February 1, 2008 at 11 am. In lieu of flowers please make a donation in her name to the American Cetace an Society, PO Box 1208, San Pedro, CA 90733. Susan so loved her work with ACS and the whales.
