Effie Basler Obituary
Effie Faye Basler, 83, of Greenwood, passed away on Wednesday, December 17, 2025. Born on November 10, 1942, in Indianapolis, Effie was the daughter of Edsil and Mettie (Calvert) Lucas. On February 16, 1962, she married the love of her life, Jim Basler, and together they shared a beautiful life filled with love and adventure.
Effie is survived by her children: Jimmy (Stayce) Basler, Anita (Rick) Hicks, and Shelly (Mark) Wampler; grandchildren: Keith, Jay, Angie, Katie E., Katie C., and Laura; and several great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Jim Basler, and her parents, Edsil Lucas and Mettie Calvert.
Effie enjoyed bowling, cooking, soaking up the sunshine, and spending time with her grandchildren. She loved mowing the lawn, visiting casinos, and playing bingo. A devoted family woman, Effie cherished every moment with her loved ones. She especially enjoyed riding in Hot Rods with her husband and attending car shows together. Her two beloved dogs, Yogi and Roxy, were always by her side.
Effie will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Her memory will live on in the hearts of her family and friends forever.
