Carl Easton Obituary

Carl Brian Easton, 58, of Las Cruces, N.M., died Thursday, April 10, 2014, in Ruidoso, N.M. Carl was born Jan. 24, 1956 in Cumberland, Md., to Lewis and Donna Easton. He married Martha Easton on Sept. 16, 2000. Carl was employed with the U.S. Postal Service as a night shift mail handler for 30 years, where he received an award for having zero sick calls. He was an avid hot wheels collector, traveling to different places, loved his Baltimore Orioles and Ravens, and could watch hours of college basketball. He always talked about buying another Corvette someday, loved buying cookbooks because he loved to cook on his days off. Brian also liked to hit a few at the golf course when it came down to competition. Las Vegas Super Bowl Sundays and roulette were his new thing with his work buddies. He was a true friend when you needed a hand. He was a dedicated, true mail handler on the night shift since 1984. He will and is already being missed by all who knew him in Las Cruces and El Paso USPS. He is survived by his wife, Martha, of the family home, son, Bryce Easton, parents Lewis and Donna Easton; brothers Jeff and Gary Easton, close friends, Super Dave, Robert Verdoza, Jude Tachias, and David Mullins. Also surviving him are his loving dogs, Timmy, Tiploe and Twang. A visitation is scheduled for Wednesday, April 23, 2014, from 5 to 7 p.m. in the Getz Funeral Home Chapel. Arrangements by Getz Funeral Home corner of Solano and Bowman Ave. To sign our local online guestbook, please log ontowww.GetzCares.com.

Our condolences to the entire family. I had not seen Brian since I was a child. My father used to take me to visit Aunt Donna and Uncle Bud in the summers, and I remember playing with Brian. Gone too soon.
