Catherine McCormick Obituary

Catherine Harding McCormick

Catherine Harding McCormick, 62, passed from the world on May 1st, 2021, of unknown causes in her home in Palacios, TX. Born to Mary Buchanan Harding and Charles Harding, she graduated from Eastwood High School in 1976 where she was a member of the Trooperettes and danced at the Rose Bowl. Many classmates referred to her as "mom" because she was always available to discuss their troubles. She went to many friends' homes to act as mediator and to help them work through problems with their parents.

Cathy was a free spirit who always lived life by her own rules. She never met a stranger and always greeted people with a smile and often a hug. She adopted anyone she could as "family," and she could talk herself out of any situation. Once, she had moved between a few states rapidly and had a license plate and a license from two different states. She visited with a police officer who stopped her and befriended him, remaining his friend for years.

She is survived by her adoring husband of 33 years, Roger, two daughters, Lily and Shannon, who was also her best friend, two granddaughters, Victoria, and Bel, and soon-to-be great-grandma to Robin.

She was beloved by many and touched more lives than she realized. She will be missed for years to come.

Only knew her for a short time. Told me about her little munchkin and was wanting her Dad to come down and stay with her in the future. Texted her the afternoon
prior to finding out she had passed. May she rest in peace and be happy in the next world
