Cecilia Hernandez Obituary
Cecilia was born in Roy, NM to Elena and Alfredo Gonzales on June 21, 1937. She married her love and soulmate Edward Hernandez on July 26, 1958. Together they raised their 3 beautiful children Elena, Monica & James in Santa Fe, NM. In 1998, they moved to Las Cruces to help raise their grandchildren. Cecilia was a member of Holy Cross church. Cecilia loved her flowers, working in her garden, bowling, arts, crafts, sewing and playing cards. She loved to listen to music, dance and most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family.
Cecilia is preceded in death by her son James, twin sister Pricilla Vigil, sister Alice Rodriguez, brother George Gonzales and her parents Elena and Alfredo. Cecilia is survived by her loving husband of 58 years Edward Hernandez, her daughters Elena and her husband Michael Sena, Monica and husband Joe Escamilla. Her grandchildren Tanya, Antonio and Matthew Padilla, Elizabeth Reyes, Linda and James Escamilla and six great grandchildren. Brothers Chris, Alfred and Leo Gonzales and Sisters Rose Padilla and Gertrude Oliver. Anna Vigil and countless nieces and nephews.
Memorial Service will be held in Las Cruces on April 21, 2017, 10:00 am at Holy Cross Church, 1327 N Miranda St., followed by a Christian service at 11:30am at First Assembly of God, 5605 Bataan Memorial. Our heartfelt sympathy to Eddie, Lena, Monica and respective families. Our family is getting smaller but we have faith that someday we will be reunited with each other. Cece's life hasn't ended, it's only changed. May her spirit, laughter and love remain in your hearts and may God bless you all during this difficult time.

To my dear Tio Eddie and my cousins Elena and Monica,
It is so hard to say goodbye to my Auntie, I cherished our visits especially since my mamma passed. I can only see her laughing and being mischievous while playing cards. I have nothing but beautiful memories and sweet moments shared with her and your family. I pray the peace of God be upon all of you and continue until we see her again. Besos and Brossos.
