David Grannis Obituary

David W. Grannis- born June 22,1958- died June 5, 2009.

He was preceded in death by his father, Stan Grannis. He is survived by his mother, Berna Deane Grannis, his brother Ron Grannis and wife Mary of Ft, Lupton, Co., his grandmother Ruby Grannis and uncle Ben Smith of Durango Co.

Always curious and longing to see new places, David traveled after graduating high school in Las Cruces. He managed restaurants in several states, earned an associate degree, became a licensed paralegal, then came home and began a construction company in las Cruces with his friend Steve Matkin.

David was a strong person, willing to work hard and fight to reach his goals. Although he worked hard as long as he could, he lost his last fight against cancer. There were many he loved and many that loved him in return. He was a good son, a good friend and we will all miss him.

Services have been entrusted to the care of La Paz - Graham's Funeral Home 555 West Amador Las Cruces, New Mexico 88005

David, I looked you up online just to see what I could find out about you now a days. I was sorry to find this. I have fond memories of you when you lived in ABQ. You were always so gentle and smiling. May you rest in peace.

Mrs. Grannis, I am so very sorry for your loss. I think of David often, as he was such a major part of my life during the time I knew him. I am blessed to have had an opportunity to share a small part of his life with him. He will always be in my thoughts. Rosemary Marquez (Tucson, AZ)

I would just like to express my condolences to the Grannis family and offer a prayer for an old friend. David was a kind and musically gifted young man who had to leave us far too soon.
Godspeed,my friend...

Berni,

So sorry to hear about your loss. My thoughts are with you during this hard time. Know that I think of you quite often and fondly. NMSU just isn't the same without you. If there is anything that I can do for you let me know. I still have a bottle of JD.
