David Turner Obituary

David E. Turner

Evergreen Park - David E. Turner, 78, born in Evergreen Park, Illinois, and a long time resident of Las Cruces, New Mexico passed away peacefully in his home on January 22 after a battle with cancer.

Dave graduated from the University of New Mexico on a football scholarship, with a bachelors degree in physical education. He taught many subjects throughout his career, but the most fulfilling were later in his life when he worked with special education students at Centennial High School. His colleagues mentioned that he was kind and patient, and truly cared about each child. He spent many years as an insurance adjuster, and formed lifelong friendships there.

Dave's family was most important to him. He was the happiest when camping at the beach in Puerto Penasco, or in the mountains with family and friends. He also loved skiing, and

white water rafting.

Aside from being survived by his wife, Elizabeth, and his children, Megan and Sean, David also leaves behind his sister, Ashley. (Auntie)

Dave will be cremated. Our family will wait until it is safe to celebrate his life with family and friends, with a party that Dave would have loved.
