Edward B. Kriegel

Edward B. Kriegel Sr. 93, of Las Cruces died Wednesday March 23, 2011. He was born July 15, 1917 in Paris, KY. to John and Mary Brand Kriegel. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army Air Corps where he served our country honorably as a T-Sgt. While in the service he earned the American Theater Ribbon, Asiatic Pacific Theater Ribbon, Good Conduct Medal WW II Victory Medal and the American Defense Ribbon. He had been a farmer in the Mesilla Valley for over 32 years; he enjoyed fishing, golf, wood working building bird houses and reading westerns. Mr. Kriegel will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. Surviving him is his loving wife of 67 years Nettie Kriegel of the family home; daughter Mary Ann Wolfe and husband Herman of Las Cruces; son Ed Kriegel, Jr. and wife Pam of Anthony, NM; grandchildren Aimee and husband Lorne, Craig, Travis and wife Shannon, Jesse and wife Liz; Jessica and Ben; great-grandchildren Cameron and Anna Rose; David and Aiden, Joaquin and Roman. A visitation will be held from 5 to 7 pm on Monday March 28, 2011 at Getz funeral Home. Graveside Services to celebrate his life will be at 9:30 am on Tuesday March 29, 2011 at Ft. Bliss National Cemetery with Fr. Don Adamsky officiating. The US Air force will provide military honors. The honor of being a pallbearer goes to Jesse, Travis and David Kriegel, Herman Wolfe, Ben Uzeta and members of the military honor guard.
