James Lucero Obituary
He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and a cherished friend to many. James was a compassionate, loving, honest, intelligent, successful, yet humble individual. Above all, he was a charitable and God-fearing man. His sense of humor and his lighthearted personality will be missed by all who knew him. He was deeply loved by many and will be dearly missed.
He is survived by his wife Laura Lucero, three sons, Leo Hernandez, Samuel Lucero, Alexander James Lucero, step-daughter Amanda Van Hoesen, brother Adam Lucero (Conni), sisters Rosa Covarrubia (Ernest), Dora Holguin (Fiancé Ron), Rebecca Rocha (Hector), Lea Lucero (Ray), four grandchildren, one step-grandchild and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jerry R. and Herminia N. Lucero, brothers Jerry (Sonny) Lucero Jr. and Samuel N. Lucero.
A Celebration of Life Memorial will be held at The Journey Apostolic Church, 1205 Ridgetop in Las Cruces on Friday, September 22, 2017at 10:00 a.m., with Pastor Hector Rocha presiding. At his request, James will be cremated and his cremains will be buried at Masonic Cemetery alongside his parent's gravesite at a later date.

Jim, the days without you are going to be very lonely. Time will have to take it's course, for there's nothing left to do. I will always love you and I know you loved me too. Your memories will always be a part of me. I'm grateful that we spoke for so many hours, where I got to know your truth. Rest in peace my beloved brother.
