Samantha Hamilton Obituary
Samantha was born Aug. 17, 1974, in Las Cruces, New Mexico, to Herbert and Charlotte Hamilton. Samantha graduated from Las Cruces High School in 1992. She went on to college at Western New Mexico University, where she pursued a degree in special education. Samantha worked as a caregiver and in customer service for 20 years. Samantha loved being a mother and child of God. She worshiped the Lord at Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church in Plano, Texas, where she was involved in many ministries. She enjoyed traveling and planning family events. Samantha inspired everyone with her determination. Her smile and laughter would light up the room. During her cancer battle these qualities never faded. She continued to be positive and uplifting to everyone she encountered despite her constant suffering from the spreading cancer. She never let cancer define her, stop her, or slow her down. She has finally won her battle with cancer and is forever cancer free in the kingdom of heaven.
Samantha was preceded in death by her loving father, Herbert S. Hamilton Sr. She was also preceded by her paternal and maternal grandparents.
Samantha's leaves her memories to be cherished by her daughter Serena Hamilton and son Myles Hamilton, as well as her mother, Charlotte Hamilton of New Mexico; brothers, Herbert S. Hamilton Jr. of New York, Douglas Bishop (and Suzanne) of New Mexico, Herbert A. Hamilton of Arkansas, Charles Hamilton (and Mary) of Arizona, Edward Hamilton (and Caisha) of New Mexico, Franklin Hamilton (and Carla) of Arizona, Dexter Hamilton (and Randi) of Maryland; sisters Kim Mount of Arkansas, Glenda Parrish of Florida, Carolyn Hamilton of Texas and Heather Hamilton of New Mexico. She also leaves her memories to 21 nieces and nephews, four great-nieces and nephews and many aunts, cousins, and friends.
Cremation was entrusted to Arehart-Echols Funeral Home in La Plata, Maryland. A celebration of life service will follow at a later date.

I remember Samantha's infectious smile in December, 2014. That smile was a smile not to forget. I know the pain of losing her is very deep, but God knew her spirit and her fight and she fought the good fight, God never gives us more than we can bear and he knew Samantha fought hard and now she is at peace and still smiling. To her family, find peace of the time God gave her to you and the joy of having her in your lives, though losing her is very painful and hard. I pray for each of you in this time of sorrow, and God's blessings to each of you.

Death leaves a heartache no one can heal, love leaves a memory no one can steal.
The memories that we have of Samantha will never fade. She was the most positive person we've ever met. When she came to church, she would always find us in the midst of the crowd to embrace and say hi. We loved her. God bless her family during this time of sorrow.

I grew up friends with Carolyn, but with that came a friendship with big sister Samantha. There are too many memories to post here. she was a wonderful sister and friend and daughter. We lost touch all of us over the years. My love and thoughts go out to the entire family, to everyone who lost their daughter, mother, sister, cousin, and friend. May you find peace.
