George W. Rhoads, Jr., 72, passed away on Sunday, October 9, 2016, in Pinnacle Health Hospital, Mechanicsburg. He was born in Lebanon on January 4, 1944, a son of the late George W. and Erma Blair Rhoads. George was the companion of Kelly L. Bradshaw of Marysville. Mr. Rhoads was a retired Transportation Driver for the Lebanon VA. He served his country in the U.S. Air Force. He was a graduate of Northern Lebanon High Class of 1962, member of HOG (Harley Owners Group), and Marion Twp. Rod and Gun Club. Surviving in addition to his companion is his son, Edward G, husband of Kathy S. Rhoads, Lebanon; grandchildren, Joshua and Taylor Rhoads; sisters, Joan Hunsicker of Myerstown, Nora, wife of Harvey Smith, Lebanon and Mary Rhoads of Palmyra; several nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held in the Rohland Funeral Home Inc., 508 Cumberland St., Lebanon, PA 17042 on Tuesday, October 18, 2016, at 1 p.m. with a viewing from 12 p.m. until the time of the service. There will be a viewing on Monday, October 17, 2016 at the funeral home from 7-9 p.m. Interment will be in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville on Tuesday at 2:30 p.m. Contributions may be made in George's memory to the American Lung Association of Central PA, 3001 Old Gettysburg Pk., Camp Hill, PA 17011; or your local Humane Society.

I am so sorry to have learned of George's passing. My thoughts and prayers go out to the family. I worked with George for many years at Bethlehem Steel and then again for many years at the VA Hospital. May God comfort George's family during this time of bereavement.
