Jane Kroeger Stacks

Jane K. Stacks PALMYRA Jane Kroeger Stacks, 90, of Palmyra entered into rest on Monday, July 30, 2007, at HCR-Manor Care, Lebanon. She was the wife of the late Clyde P. Stacks, who was well known for his knowledge and ability of Pennsylvania German Folk Art, died on October 17, 1988. Born June 8, 1917, in Lebanon and raised in Lancaster across from Long's Park, she was the daughter of the late George H. and Mary E.D. Matthews Kroeger. After her mother's death, she was raised by her maiden aunt, the late Mary G. Kroeger. Jane was the executive secretary to the president of Milton Hershey School. Later, she had worked in the school archives and was a secretary for the Alumni Association. Her late husband Clyde was a teacher for 49 years at MHS. Following retirement, she had worked for Michael Marrone, M.D., in Palmyra for 10 years. She was a member of Trinity United Church of Christ, Palmyra, and did volunteer work at the Hershey Ronald McDonald House, Harrisburg Shalom House, Lebanon VAMC animal therapy with her dog, Katie. Jane was known for helping others. She will be lovingly missed by two sons, David C., married to Wendy A. Stacks, of Mechanicsburg, and Thomas K. Stacks of Palm Springs, Calif. She was preceded in death by her sister, Ruth K. Foster. Funeral services will be held at Milton Hershey School, Heritage Room in Founder's Hall, 1201 Homestead Lane, Hershey, PA 17033 on Thursday, August 2, 2007, at 10 a.m. with Pastor Pat Kelly officiating. Interment will be in the Gravel Hill Cemetery, Palmyra, Pa. Friends may call at the Heritage Room in Founder's Hall on Thursday between 9 and 10 a.m. Kindly omit flowers.
