Leon C. Crouse MYERSTOWN Leon C. Crouse, 81, of Myerstown died Tuesday, April 24, 2007, at his residence. He was the husband of Arlene J. Ziegler Crouse to whom he was married 60 years on July 6. Born in Mt. Aetna, Pa., on March 22, 1926, son of the late Irwin W. and Sue Harnly Crouse, he was a member of Myerstown Church of the Brethren where he served as a deacon and mowed the church grove. He worked as a dairy farmer for 26 years in Tulpehocken Township, Berks County. After leaving the dairy farm, he drove truck for Swope & Bashore, Frystown, for 16 years. He then drove truck for Rohrer's Quarry, Lititz, for five years, retiring in 1991. After his retirement, he worked for Birchwood Truck & Auto, Schaefferstown, for five years. He enjoyed lawn work, riding his motorcycle and scooter and traveling to Florida in the winter. In addition to his wife, he is survived by son Jeffrey L., husband of Juanita Crouse of Manheim; daughters-inlaw Frances, wife of Dale Bushong, Annville, Brenda Crouse, Myerstown, Karen Crouse, Manheim; 11 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren; sister Orpha, wife of William Ecenroad of Ephrata, brother Jay E. Crouse of Lebanon; brother-in-law Emmanuel Ziegler, Myerstown; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by sons Larry L. Crouse in 1971, Bryan L. Crouse in 2001 and Chet L. Crouse in 2005, and a sister Edith Crouse Ziegler. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 10:30 a.m. from Myerstown Church of the Brethren, 51 W. Stoever Ave. , Myerstown. There will be no viewing. Family will receive friends Friday from 6 p.m. - 8 p.m. at the church and Saturday at 9:30 a.m. Interment at Frystown Cemetery, Bethel Township.
