David Kirk Obituary

David R. Kirk, 81, of New Bethlehem, passed away on Saturday evening, March 8, 2025, at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital in Pittsburgh.

Born September 26, 1943, in Butler, he was the son of the late George and Hazel (Howard) Kirk.

He married Nancy C. (Wadding) Kirk on April 20, 1968. She preceded him in death on January 30, 2024.

David served his country from April 8, 1965, to April 3, 1967, with the U.S. Army.

He owned and operated Kirk's Hauling for over 40 years.

Survivors include two children, Scott Kirk and his wife, Lucy, of Mayport and Trisha Huffman and her husband, Jeffrey, of Rimersburg; five grandchildren, Ashley (Stan) Redeye, David Kirk, Hallie (Tyler) Hollingsworth, Willow (R. J.) Sorchilla, and Douglas Huffman; three great-grandchildren, Bryce, Bryella and Theo; and a brother, Pete Kirk of New Jersey.

In addition to his parents and his wife, he was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Procious; and three brothers, Jack Kirk, George Kirk and Bob Kirk.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 13, 2025, from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Alcorn Funeral Home in Hawthorn.

The funeral service will follow at 3 p.m., with Pastor Bud Davis officiating.

Interment will be in the Oakland Cemetery in Distant.
