William Smead Obituary

William Frank Smead III, 26, of New Bethlehem, passed away on Sunday afternoon, June 16, 2024 in Marienville, due to injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident.

Born December 10, 1997 in Warren County, he was the son of Tina Harbison Stahlman and her husband, Jeff Stahlman, and the late William Smead II.

He was a direct support professional with Valley Advantages LLC.

William could often be found spending his time with his dogs, Lady and Thor, fishing, listening to music and going for a drive in his Neon.

His motto in life was "if the reward is greater than the risk, then it's worth fighting for," and his determination was unmatched.

He was always a "look at the sky" type of man and anytime he was excited about something you would hear his infamous "DDUUUDDDEEEE!"

William found his love for four-wheeler riding from his stepfather, Jeff.

He was the first one to pick on his little sister, Destiny, but the first one at her defense when she needed him, and the bond between he and his mother was a rare one to find. Tina and her "handsome boy" were always high on life together.

William lived his life in the fast lane and he will be riding in the sunset for eternity.

He leaves behind his mother and stepfather, Tina and Jeff Stahlman of New Bethlehem; sister, Destiny Stahlman (Steven Disc) and Deidra Mimm; brothers, William Haley and Devon Prechtl; maternal grandmother, Lois Moniger; and paternal grandparents, William Smead Sr. and Marie Young.

William is also survived by a niece and nephew, Phoebe and Dean Schrecongost; aunts, Mary Harbison, Stephanie Hauserman, Amy Moniger and Jesse Masters; uncle, John Harbison; cousins, John Harbison Jr., Bella Harbison, Tanner Evans (TaLeigh Eldred) and Emily Hauserman; and William's fiancé, Kimberly Tibbs.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his brother, Jonathon Micheal Harbison; uncle, Victor Luce; cousin, Tres Luce; and best friend, John Chambers.

The family will receive friends from 1 to 3 p.m. on Friday, June 21, 2024 at the Rupert Funeral Home and Cremation Service chapel, located at 233 Penn Street in New Bethlehem.

A Celebration of Life will immediately follow at the Fraternal Order of Eagles Club, located at 469 Broad Street in New Bethlehem.
