Mrs. Wilma Hamler

1925 - 2017

Wilma (Walls) Hamler, 91, of Hampton Township, died Tuesday, April 25, 2017, while under the care of Sunrise Of McCandless in Pittsburgh.

Born October 14, 1925, in Porter Township, she was the daughter of Clyde G. and Mildred (Pence) Walls.

She was married to Nelson E. Hamler for 65 years. He preceded her in death on March 5, 2013.

Mrs. Hamler worked in the Hampton School District Administration for many years.

She was an active member of Hampton United Presbyterian Church.

Mrs. Hamler enjoyed baking and shared her skills with Meals on Wheels. She volunteered hundreds of hours at Passavant Hospital.

Mrs. Hamler and her husband loved to have a large garden. She enjoyed canning and making wonderful fresh dishes. She liked to crochet and knit.

Survivors include three daughters, Coleen (William) K. Ehrig, of Prospect, Ky.; Connie (John) H. Wiliszowski, of Wareham, Mass. and Mary Jean Hamler of Pittsburgh; a grandson, Robert (Lauren) B. Watterson and a granddaughter, Ashley (Michael) C. Lynch, both of Louisville, Ky.; five great-grandsons; a great-granddaughter; and a sister, Lucille (Otis) Procious.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a sister, Eileen Oliver; and two brothers, William and Leroy Walls.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, April 28, at the King Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., in Allison Park.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, April 29, 2017, at the Hampton Presbyterian Church in Gibsonia, with the Rev. Ted Martin officiating.

Interment will be in Salem Cemetery, Frogtown.
