Edward Stevens Obituary

Deerfield, WI - Edward A. Stevens, age 86, died from esophageal cancer on Saturday, November 16, 2024 surrounded by his family in Deerfield, WI. He was born on June 21, 1938 in Chicago, IL and was the son of Edward and Mary (Gdowski) Stevens. After an extensive recovery from a car accident, Ed graduated from St. Ignatius High School in 1957 and briefly attended Loyola University. He married Elizabeth (Betty) Angeletti Lisiewicz in 1966 after serving in the U.S. Army. He raised his two sons as a single father after Betty's death working primarily as a computer operator at Knowles Electronics, LLC. Ed enjoyed bowling, playing cards, a good meal and was a lifelong Chicago Bears fan.

He is survived by his childrenn Edward (Patricia), Kevin (Jennifer); his grandchildren: Sarah, Jonathan (Campbell), Max, Elizabeth and Joshua; his sister, Edissa Szczepanski, BVM; and his former wife, Barbara Miller. He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Betty; and grandchild, TJ Stevens.

The family plans to bury his cremains with a small ceremony at Betty's gravesite in St. Adalbert Cemetery in Niles, IL at a later date. The family would like to thank all the healthcare workers from SSM Health and Agrace Hospice Care who provided Dad with excellent care over the past several years.
