Grant Grotte Obituary

Grant George Grotte

April 2, 1934 - December 27, 2025

Grant George Grotte, age 91, passed away peacefully on December 27, 2025, in Oak Creek, Wisconsin. He was a longtime resident of South Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

Grant was born on April 2, 1934, in Cornell, Wisconsin, to Mikal Dehart Grotte and Laura Marguerite Grotte. He grew up alongside his three sisters, Caroline, Lauretta, Jean. Grant graduated from Cornell High School and went on to proudly serve his country by entering the United States Air Force in March of 1954. He served for four years, during which time he met and married Sharon Partridge, who was also serving in the Air Force. They were married on March 31, 1956.

Together, Grant and Sharon raised six sons: George (Jenifer), John (Sue), Richard (Tamra), Mitchell (Kelli), Mikal (Sharon), and Rodney (Susan). Grant and Sharon shared 40 years of marriage until her passing. He was later united in marriage to Carol Webster in February of 1997, welcoming her 3 Children into his life and family. They shared 22 loving years of marriage prior to her passing.

Grant spent 37 years working as an aircraft mechanic for Continental Airlines, a career that reflected his strong work ethic, mechanical skill, and dedication.

An avid outdoorsman, Grant found great joy in hunting, fishing, and archery. He especially cherished the annual hunting trips he shared with his sons, family members, and friends-memories that will be treasured for generations. Grant also loved playing cards, dominoes, and Farkle with family and friends, always enjoying the time spent together. Never one to shy away from a project, he even made his own wine, a testament to his curiosity and creativity.

Grant was preceded in death by his wives, Sharon and Carol; his son, Richard; and his sisters, Caroline, Lauretta, and Jean.

He is survived by his five sons and their spouses; 34 grandchildren; 41 great-grandchildren; 9 great-great-grandchildren; and numerous extended family members and friends who will miss him dearly.

Grant will be remembered for his devotion to his family, his love of the outdoors, his service to his country, and the countless memories he created with those he loved.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00pm on Saturday, January 3rd, 2026 at Borton-Leiser Funeral Home,220 South 7th Street, Cornell, Wisconsin 54732.
