Jack Christopher Ritchie, age 35, passed away on October 1, 2025, as a result of a tragic and senseless car accident.

He was born to Christopher and Nancy, both educators, on April 20, 1990, in Rice Lake, Wisconsin. He graduated from Chetek High School in 2009 and later from UW-Stout with a degree in Environmental Science. Jack worked in Venice, Florida, as a Water Quality Engineer before returning to Wisconsin, because as he eloquently put it, "I'm a family guy, and it's too damn hot down there."

Jack was a gentle, soulful, spiritual man who was continually seeking peace and balance amidst a chaotic world. He was blessed with a plethora of positive attributes: humor, athleticism, a deep love and respect for nature, and dashing good looks.

His strongest attributes, however, were his musical and writing talents. They were truly off the charts, as demonstrated by winning numerous contests and awards for his singing, guitar playing, and song writing. Yet, he remained humble, and he never spoke of these accomplishments unless asked.

Jack is survived by his parents, Chris and Nancy Ritchie; his older sister, Laura; his much-loved nephew, Arlo; and a multitude of aunts, uncles and cousins. He especially revered his uncle, Bruce Sockness, whom he often credited for encouraging his musical talent, and his cousin, Rachel Chambers, who was not only his cousin, but truly one of his best friends.

A celebration for Jack's life will be held on Sunday, October 26, 2025, 1-4 p.m., at Lehman's Supper Club, 2911 S Main St., Rice Lake, Wisconsin. Come join us for food, music and sharing of stories. The funnier, the better. We also ask that you pray for our family as we somehow learn to live in a world without him.
