Janice Thompson Obituary

Janice M. Thompson, 89, of Eau Claire died Thursday, October 2, 2025, at Mayo Clinic. She was born on September 18, 1936, a daughter to Fred and Gunda (nee Winge) Block.
Janice graduated from Eau Claire Senior High School class of 1954. She married Robert L. Thompson on September 25,1954.
She worked at Sacred Heart hospital for many years as a nursing assistant and loved caring for patients.
Janice was a member of Chippewa Valley Seventh-day Adventist Church for over 60 years.
She loved all animals and had pets including dogs, cats and parakeets.
Janice is survived by her two sons, Robert L. Thompson II of Eau Claire and Dr. David J. (Dr. Margarita) Thompson of Livonia, Michigan; two granddaughters, Yana and Kalina Thompson; and several nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband; three brothers-in-law: Chester and Gordon Thompson and Dave Garton; and three sisters-in-law: Thelma and Marge Thompson and Gladys Garton.
Visitation will be from 5 to 6 pm on Wednesday, October 8, 2025, at Chippewa Valley Seventh-day Adventist Church, 919 10th St. West, Altoona. A memorial service will be held at 6 pm with Pastor Tom Baker officiating followed by a fellowship dinner at the church. Internment will occur at Lakeview Cemetery in Eau Claire on Thursday, October 9, 2025, at 10 am.
