Richard Eberhardt

February 9, 1932 - July 17, 2025

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Richard (Dick) Eberhardt, who left to be with The Lord on July 17, 2025, at the age of 93. Richard was born on February 9, 1932, in Madison, Wisconsin. He grew up in northern Wisconsin and graduated from Chippewa Falls High School in 1949.

Dick married Esther on May 16, 1955 in Jim Falls, WI, and were together until Esther's passing on October 3, 2020. they had two sons, Richard Jr and Jeffrey.

Dick proudly served in the United States Army as a combat veteran of the Korean War, displaying loyalty and dedication to his country that he carried throughout his life. He retired from the Army as Master Sargeant April 1st, 1970. After retiring from the Army he moved his family to Eau Claire, WI where he worked in the Postal Service until his retirement in 1992. He was an avid outdoorsman and loved hunting and fishing. He also loved the game of golf and was a regular in the men's group at Princeton Valley Golf Course. He was very proud of the 3 holes-in-one he had over the course of his life. With his wife, he enjoyed trips to Hawaii, Mexico and a trip to Europe that included Germany, Belgium, France, Italy and Switzerland. He was a long-time member of St Olaf's Catholic Church in Eau Claire.

Dick is survived by his son, Richard Jr of Lubbock, TX; grandsons Eric (Sarah) Eberhardt of Lubbock, TX, Alex (Kate) Eberhardt of Lubbock, TX, Todd (Michelle) Eberhardt of Miami, Fl, Josh (Stephanie) Eberhardt of Greensboro, NC, Grant Mcelwaine of Pittsburg, PA; great-grandsons Marcos and Damien; great grand-daughters Blake, Ariana, Leila, Emerson and Elliot. Dick will be remembered for his unwavering devotion to his family and friends, and the kindness he showed to everyone he met.

Dick was preceded in death by: His wife Esther Eberhardt, son Jeffrey Eberhardt, parents Ernest (Ernest) Eberhardt and Aleda Eberhardt.

Services will be private with burial at Northern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Spooner, WI.
