Roland Olson Obituary

Roland T. Olson

September 1, 1955 - August 11, 2025

Roland Todd Olson, 69, affectionately known as Rollie, passed away on August 11th, 2025, at Oak Gardens Place in Altoona, Wisconsin.

Rollie was born on September 1, 1955, in Eau Claire to the late Carey and Gladys Olson. He graduated from Memorial High School in 1973. He retired after several years at Speedy Delivery and owned and managed several rental homes.

Rollie was a faithful member of the First Lutheran Church in Eau Claire. His commitment to service was evident in his long-standing involvement with the Boy Scouts. Among Rollie's passions, raising Husky puppies brought him great joy. He found solace and happiness in caring for these animals, and his loving and gentle nature made him the perfect companion. He was an avid sports fan, with a particular love for Nascar races and cheering on the Green Bay Packers.

Family was the cornerstone of Rollie's life. He is survived by his loving siblings: Bonnie McDermott, Anita Hildebrandt, Curtis (Anita) Olson, and Cindy (Harvey) Neu, as well as 9 nieces and nephews. Rollie cherished every moment spent with his family, whether it was at the lake house on Sand Lake or attending family functions.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Carey and Gladys (Lokken) Olson.

A private graveside service will be held at a later date.
