Thomas Nowak Obituary
March 31, 1943 - July 27, 2025
Thomas L. Nowak, 82, of Chippewa Falls, passed away on July 27, 2025, at the Chippewa Manor Nursing Home in Chippewa Falls.
Tom was born to Louis E. and Marie L. (Bibeau) Nowak on March 31, 1943. On August 27, 1966, Tom married JoAnn Liddell at Notre Dame Church in Chippewa Falls. They celebrated 50 years together before JoAnn passed. Together they had three sons: Paul, Jeff, and Mike.
Tom worked a short time as a bricklayer before he went on to dedicate 37 years as a route salesman for the Holsum Bakery. Following retirement, he continued to work for 18 years, delivering auto parts for Carquest to keep busy and share stories with everyone he met.
Tom had a passion for playing fast-pitch softball and, later on, slow-pitch softball. He loved watching the Packers, Brewers, and Badgers. If they weren't playing, he could always find another sport on TV to watch. He also cherished every opportunity he had to go to the racetrack and watch his boys race. Furthermore, Tom enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren as they grew and appreciated when they came to see him.
Tom is survived by his three sons, Paul (Barbara), Jeff (Shelly) and Mike (Michelle) Nowak, all of Chippewa Falls; two sisters, Mary Lou Postl and Barbara (John) Rasmus, both of Chippewa Falls; and eight grandchildren, Kristen, Brooke, Breanna, Kody, Mitchell, McKayla, Joseph and Loren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, JoAnn Nowak, in 2017; his brother-in-law Hermie Postl; and his parents, Louis and Marie Nowak.
The family would like to thank Heartland Hospice for their generous care.
A private graveside service will be held at Calvary Cemetery in Chippewa Falls.
A celebration of life is planned for Saturday, August 2 from 12-4 at Schuetzy's Tavern, 18985 County Hwy J Chippewa Falls. His family invites all who knew Tom to join in honoring his memory and sharing the stories of a life well lived.
