Anna May Moffitt, 100, of Brookdale Park Weddington Assisted Living, Matthews, N.C., passed away Wednesday, Jan. 13, 2021.
She was born April 1, 1920, in Kittanning, Pa., the daughter of Charles Isaac Craig and Laura Belle (Cornman) Craig.
Anna May lived in Kittanning and Ford City, Pa., for many years before moving to New Port Richey, Fla. and later to Matthews, N.C. She was a lifelong member of the First United Methodist Church of Kittanning, and worked for the Armstrong School District for 25 years before retiring.
She is survived by her sons: L. Craig Schaeffer and wife, Joyce (Geist) Schaeffer, and Donald G. Schaeffer and wife, Sharon (Bellas) Schaeffer; five grandsons; three granddaughters; 13 great-grandchildren; five step-children; and four step-grandchildren.
Anna May was preceded in death by her husband, Glenn Schaeffer; son, Lt. Col. Theodore Schaeffer; husband, Val Blatt; husband, Richard E. Moffitt; and sister, Mary Louise Frye.
A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 20, 2021, at Lawn Haven Burial Estates, 1290 Butler Road, Worthington, Pa. 16262, with the Rev. Deb Kociban officiating.
Interment will be in Lawn Haven Burial Estates, Worthington, Pa.
