Charles Robert "Chuck" Hooks, 79, of Kittanning, died on Friday, Jan. 21, 2022, in ACMH Hospital.
He was born on April 12, 1942, in Kittanning, to the late William and Avanelle June (Jordan) Hooks.
Chuck was a postal worker for 40 plus years. He was a U.S. Navy veteran serving in California, during the Vietnam War.
Chuck was a member of the Cowansville American Legion, where he was a financial officer. He also was financial officer for American Legion District 28. He was adjutant for the Armstrong County American Legion. Chuck was a devoted member of the Armstrong County Honor Guard. He was treasurer for the Armstrong County Federal Employees Credit Union. Chuck was also a member of the Armstrong County Hockey Hall of Fame and a board member for the AAHL.
Left behind to cherish his memory includes his wife of 52 years, Carol A. (Trulick) Hooks; children: Kevin Charles Hooks, Kerry Marie Hooks and Chad Richard Hooks and partner, Samantha Dick; his two granddaughters, whom he loved and adored: Tanna Hooks and Sloan Hooks; siblings: Michael (Nancy) Hooks, Linda Pella, William Joseph (Leslie) Hooks, Frances (Gary) Atwood, James (Sandy) Hooks and Betty Jean (Rodger) Cornish; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant son, J. Paul Hooks.
Family and friends of Chuck Hooks, will be received from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Monday, Jan. 24, 2022, in the Snyder-Crissman Funeral Home, 200 S. McKean St., Kittanning.
Additional viewing will be held from 10 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 25, 2022, in the First Baptist Church, 334 Arch Street, Kittanning, until time of funeral services at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Mark Brady and the Armstrong County Honor Guard officiating.
Burial will follow in Lawn Haven Burial Estates.
