He was born Feb. 17, 1920 in Hickory (Clearfield County), to George M. and Clara (Burke) Dodd. Mr. Dodd was a retired office manager for Noel Ford, Kittanning. He worked as a medical transportation assistant for Area Agency on Aging, Kittanning. Additionally, he was a pianist for the Freddy Elwood Orchestra and also was a soloist. He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Kittanning and was a member of the choir. An Army veteran he served during World War II. His hobbies were fishing and all sports. He enjoyed playing the piano and also entertained at the Area Agency on Aging, Kittanning. Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Virginia I. (Shamberger) Dodd, whom he married Sept. 18, 1948; four sons, Mark D. Dodd of Simpsonville, S.C., Daniel L. Dodd of Kittanning RD7 (North Buffalo Township), Eric A. Dodd of Mauldin, S.C. and David L. Dodd of Worthington RD2 (West Frank-lin Township); two daughters, Jane E. Garcia of Kittanning and Mrs. Scott (Lisa A.) Neyman of Kittanning RD3 (East Franklin Township); and 18 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; five sisters, Bertha May Ovell, Georgia M. Byers, Dorothy I. Keller, Edna E. Dodd and Florence J. Fair; one half brother, Arthur A. Dodd; and four half sisters, Alice Gertrude Dodd, Minnie L. Hall, Ella C. Schweiker and Anna M. Hoyt. DODD - Friends of Delbert L. Dodd, 81, of 12 Deer Lane, Kittanning, who died Nov. 1, 2001, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the Bauer Funeral Home, 515 N. McKean St., Kittanning. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at St. John's Lutheran Church, Kittanning with his pastor, the Rev. Carl A. Johnson, officiating. Interment will take place in Lawn Haven Burial Estates, Inc., East Franklin Township. The family suggests memorial contributions may be made to St. John's Lutheran Church, 218 N.
