Gisela Maria Cacurak, 77, of Ford Cliff died on Tuesday, Sept. 20, 2016, at her residence.
She was born on March 21, 1939, in Fulda, Germany to Bernard and Elisabeth Mengel Holzheiser.
Gisela was a member of Christ, Prince of Peace Parish.
She enjoyed walking, reading, exercising, shopping, cooking, True Detective magazines, murder mysteries, spending time with her family, enjoyed dining out, and celebrations.
Gisela celebrated her 50th wedding anniversary on July 4, 2011, with the love of her life, whom she met while he was a MP in Frankfurt, Germany.
Since the early 1960s, she was a resident of her community.
Survivors include daughters, Andrea and Mark Davis of Seymour, Texas, Susan and Greg Simmons and Barbara Cacurak, all of Ford City, and Angela and John Brison of Ford Cliff; son, John J. Cacurak of Naples, Florida; 12 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; sisters, Betina Murphy of North Carolina and Erika Socha of Fulda; and brothers, Gunther Holzheiser and Peter Holzheiser, both of Fulda; and special friends include Elaine Crytzer and Amy Faulx.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, John Edward "Cach" Cacurak, who died Dec. 19, 2011; and one brother, Bernard.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the Mantini Funeral Home Inc., 701 Sixth Ave., Ford City. A Prayer service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday in the funeral home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. at Christ, Prince of Peace Parish, 718 Fourth Ave., Ford City with Father John Harrold officiating. Interment will be in Holy Trinity Cemetery in Manor.
