Mary Miller Obituary

Mary Charlotte "Little Mary" (Ramer) Miller, 83, of Kittanning, died Sunday, June 29, 2008, at Concordia Hospice Care in Cabot. She was born Dec. 4, 1924, in Cowanshannock Township, daughter of the late Harry M. Ramer and Ethel Pearl (Cogley) Ramer. She was a lifelong resident of Kittanning and was a nurse's aide for 51 years at Armstrong County Memorial Hospital. Mary was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Kittanning, where she was a member of the church choir and helped out in the church office, with church dinners, church newsletter mailings and adult church luncheons. She also was a 15 year volunteer at the Salvation Army, The Home League and Golden Agers. Her hobbies were knitting, crocheting, eating at Clarks and Dizzy Lizzy restaurants in Kittanning. Mary is survived by her sister, Hazel Uplinger, of Kittanning; two nieces, Doris (Ramer) Songer (Larry), of Greensburg, and Lois (Uplinger) Yount (LeRoy), of Kittanning; three great-nieces; one great-nephew; and seven great-great-nieces and -nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Glenn Miller; and sister, Betty Walker. Friends will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at SNYDER-CRISSMAN FUNERAL HOME, Kittanning, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday with the Rev. Carl A. Johnson and the Rev. Jack Peters co-officiating. Interment will be in Kittanning Cemetery. For more information or to send an online condolence, please visit www.snydercrissman.com.
