Richard "Dick" Eugene Bowser, 76, of Kittanning Township, died Monday, Nov. 2, 2015, at his home. Born Dec. 5, 1938, in Huey, he was a son of the late Thomas and Lizzie Mae (Fair) Bowser. Dick served in the Navy for three and one half years, and retired from Allegheny Ludlum, where he worked as a fork truck driver and a grinder. He and his wife, Shirley, attended First Church of the Nazarene and Cornerstone Assembly of God, both in Kittanning. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing the guitar, singing and watching baseball. Dick is survived by his wife, Shirley (Holben) Thompson Bowser; a son, Richard Todd Bowser (Theresa), of Northampton; a stepson, David Thompson, of Harrisburg; two stepdaughters, Sharon Rawson (John) of Clarion, and Tammy Kemery (Ron), of Rimersburg; 18 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; a sister, Dorothy June Gross, of Ford City; and twp sisters-in-law, Carole Bowser, of Valencia, and Connie Bowser, of Leechburg. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Thomas A. Bowser and Perry Bowser; and a stepson, Dennis Thompson.
Friends will be welcomed from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday and from 1 p.m. until the time of services at 2 p.m. Thursday in the WELCH FUNERAL HOME, 1032 Fourth Ave., Ford City. Pastors Michael Bobbitt and Mark Smith will officiate. Interment will be made in Squirrel Hill Cemetery, Porter Township.
