Robert E. Moore Jr., 75, of Cochranton died Wednesday, April 19, 2017, at the Meadville Medical Center.
Born, Sept. 19, 1941, in Kittanning, he was the son of Robert E. Sr. and Carrie Slagle Moore. He married Sandy Marrapode on Sept. 14, 1961, and she survives.
Bob graduated in 1959 from Kittanning High School and on July 29, 1959, enlisted in the U.S. Army. He served with Company B, 187th Infantry during the Vietnam War and was honorably discharged on Aug. 8, 1962.
For more than 40 years, he worked in the Batch House at the former PPG.
He was a member of the Meadville Moose, Kittanning Eagles, Cochranton Volunteer Fire Department Station #4, Cochranton American Legion, and was a former member of the Cochranton Masonic Lodge #790.
Bob was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying hunting, fishing, and gardening and he was a Pittsburgh Steelers fan.
Survivors include his wife, Sandy of 55 years; two daughters, Cyndi Poduszlo of Cochranton and Michele Mitchell and her husband, Mike, of Saegertown; and two twin sons, Robert E. Moore III and his wife, Brandy, of Cochranton and Randall Moore of Cochranton; eight grandchildren, Andrea Poduszlo, Jason Poduszlo, Michael Mitchell and his wife, Madison; Justin and Jeremy Mitchell, Brandon Moore, Kyle Moore, and Skylar Moore; a great-granddaughter, Sophia Moore; and expecting a great-grandson in June; three sisters, Merna Harmon and her husband, Nathan, of Kittanning; Fran Prazenica of Ford City; and Regis "Babe" Wermter and her husband, William, of Rural Valley; and two brothers, John Moore and his wife, Elena, of Meadville and Owen Moore of Kittanning; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; an infant son, David James Moore; a son in law, Tom Poduszlo; and a brother in law, Joseph Prazenica.
As per Bob's wishes there will be no calling hours or services.
