WILLIAM MOREHEAD Obituary

WILLIAM MOREHEAD JR. March 30, 1955 - August 13, 2025 Bill Morehead, beloved husband, father, papa, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully on August 13, 2025, at KU Medical Center in Kansas City, Kan,, surrounded by his family. He was 70. Born in Leavenworth, Kan., Bill was the second youngest of five children and grew up with a deep love for family, the Kansas City Chiefs, the Kansas City Royals, and KU basketball. He was a 1973 graduate of Lansing High School before becoming a dedicated letter carrier for over 30 years, who loved taking care of the people in his community. Bill was known for being so proud of everyone in his life, having a kind and gentle spirit, never having met a stranger, and his ability to make everyone feel heard and loved. He loved his time gathering with friends and family catching up on old stories and getting updates on how everyone was doing. His love for people and his ability to welcome anyone in his life was felt by all of those around him. Out of all the titles Bill held, Papa was the one he was most proud of. Papa loved to be surrounded by all of his grandkids, attending their activities as their biggest supporter and spoiling them any way he could. Bill will always be remembered by his infectious smile, patience, loving spirit, and care for others. He is survived by his wife, Susie of 47 years; his three children, Amber and her husband John, Heather and her fiancé Mike, Billy and his fiancé Suzie; his grandchildren Ty, Ethan, Claire, Sean, Tommy, Kate, Caleb, Logan, and Anna; his sister, Linda and her husband Leonard, sister Brenda and her husband Bruce, and brother Greg and his wife Debi; as well as his loving dog, Molly; and countless cousins, nieces, and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Bill and Ginny Morehead, his sister Mary Lou Allen and brother-in-law, Gary. You are invited to pay your respects and share fond memories of Bill at a visitation to be held Saturday, August 23, 2025, from 10 to 11:30 a.m. at Belden Larkin Funeral Home. A funeral service will commence at 11:30 a.m. in the funeral home chapel. His legacy of compassion and care for others will live on in all who knew him.
