Anthony Carroll Obituary

Anthony J. Carroll

August 21, 1951 - September 29, 2021

Anthony passed peacefully on September 29th.

Anthony was born to Tony and Neaoma or Sis as many knew her, on August 21, 1951.

Anthony was manager at the local Plaid Pantry in Albany, he also taught ALS at The Consortium.

He moved to California where he worked at Captain Video. Several years later he started a career at Safeway.

Anthony moved back to Albany to be close to family.

He never had children, but his nieces and nephews were his to advise and teach how to love one another. He did a fabulous job! Anthony was an enrolled member in the Rosebud Sioux Tribe in South Dakota.

Anthony was cared for the last weeks of his life at Winnie and George's home on hospice. He was surrounded daily with loved ones.

He is survived by sister Winnie and brother-in-law George Yeager of Albany, numerous nieces and nephews, great and great-great-nieces and nephews.

Anthony is preceded in death by his parents, baby sister Phyllis, brothers Charles and John Carroll.

We would like to express our sincere appreciation for the dedication of the Samaritan Evergreen Hospice RNs Ann, Rui, Chris, and Carla. Bath assistant Bethany. Nicole and Stephan for coming into our home to help with this difficult, but beautiful journey.

On a personal note, this is a tiny portion of who Anthony was, if we were to write it all down it would be a masterpiece novel. He was loved and will never be forgotten.

He was a better friend to me than I ever was to him. His help towards me had no limits. Quite possibly the most humble intellectual I´ve ever known. Anything I say further could never begin to match his generosity.
