Adriano Ricci November 27, 1922 - October 22, 2009 COLUMBUS, GA— Adriano Ricci, 86, of Columbus, GA, formerly of Vienna, VA died Thursday, October 22, 2009. A memorial service will be held 10:00 a.m. Saturday, October 24, 2009 at Holy Family Catholic Church with Father Frank Patterson officiating according to Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, Columbus. Mr. Ricci was born November 27, 1922 in Forte dei Marmi, Italy to the late Pietro and Teresa Tomassi Ricci.  He became an Italian Merchant Marine at the age of 15.  Mr. Ricci came to the United States in 1951 and became a United States citizen in 1958.  He was a very successful and philosophical man.  Mr. Ricci was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church in Columbus, and St. Marks Catholic Church in Vienna, VA  We will miss his presence daily, but will cherish his memory forever in our hearts. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his loving wife of 63 years, Josefa Catalina Juncal Ricci and one brother, Mauro Ricci. Survivors include his son, Adrian J. Ricci and his wife Susan of Clifton, VA; his daughter, Cristina Ricci-Simpson and her husband, Dr. William B. Simpson of Columbus, GA; five grandchildren, Timothy Adrian Elliott and his wife, Mary, Jeffrey Todd Elliott and his wife, Whitney, Michael Adrian Ricci, Cristina Ricci-Simpson Ritter and her husband, Corey, and Marie Simpson-McCleskey and her husband, Christopher; ten great grandchildren, Whitney Anne Elliott, Jacob Adrian Elliott, Jeffrey Todd Elliott, Jr., Joshua Everitt Elliott, Keaghan Christy Elliott, Olivia Grace Elliott, William Bryan Simpson, IV, Zachary Oden Elliott, Tyler Simpson, and Samuel Fox McCleskey; many other family members and friends. The family will receive friends following the service at the home of Dr. and Mrs. William B. Simpson.
