Anthony Eugene "Tony" Jacobs, Sr. November 8, 1931- November 18, 2007 PHENIX CITY, AL— Anthony Eugene Ò Tony Ò Jacobs, Sr., 76 of Phenix City, Alabama died Sunday November 18, 2007 in Columbus, GA. Cryptside funeral services with Columbus Police Department honors will be held at 11:00am Wednesday November 21st at the Lakeview Memory Gardens mausoleum chapel with the Reverend Randy Worrell officiating, according to Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, Phenix City. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6pm until 8pm at the funeral home. Mr. Jacobs was born November 8, 1931 in Columbus, Ga. son of the late Bibb and Emily Jacobs. He retired from the Columbus Police Department in1987 after more than 25 years of service and in 1970 was named the Muscogee County Deputy Sheriff of the Year. Mr. Jacobs was a U.S. Air Force veteran and a member of the Fraternal Order of Police, The Free Masonry and  Shriners. He was also a member of the Phenix City Seniors Center. Survivors include his three children, Judith Ò JudyÓ Anderson and husband, Gramon L. ÒButchÓ Anderson, Jr., of Columbus, Anthony E. ÒBusterÓ Jacobs, Jr., and wife, Debbie, of Salem, AL and Jo Beth Braddy and husband, Steve, of Peachtree City, GA; one brother, Dale Jacobs of Lakeland, FL; grandchildren, Laura Anderson Smith, Anthony Eugene Ò T.J.Ó Jacobs, III, Christian Jacobs, Johanna Braddy and Cole Braddy; five great-grandchildren; his devoted companion, Gisela Reynolds of Phenix City; and many nieces and nephews.
