Ret. SFC Bobby N. Ellis August 8, 1940 May 22, 2008 COLUMBUS, GAÐ Ret. SFC Bobby N. Ellis, 67, of Columbus died Thursday, May 22, 2008 at his residence. A private family service will be held at a later date according to McMullen Funeral Home, 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, Ga. Mr. Ellis was born August 8, 1940 in Butler County, Alabama the son of the late Laura Phelps Ellis and Robert A. Ellis. Mr. Ellis retired after 20 years as a SFC with the United States Army where he was a Vietnam Veteran. He was a protestant by faith and an avid outdoorsman. He was a member of the NRA and the Social Shooting Club. Survivors include his loving wife of 41 years Ethel Lowe Ellis of Columbus, daughter, Dena M. Ellis and husband Jerry Aldridge of Temple, TX., son, Robert L. Ellis of Columbus, brothers, Paul P. Ellis and wife Gearl Dean of Hazel Hurst, MS., Charles T. Ellis and wife Christie of Ft. Motte, SC., Randall B. Ellis of Honoraville, AL., Donald A. Ellis and wife Cindy of Pace, FL., numerous nieces, nephews and other family members.
