Manchester, GA- Carolyn P. Mayfield, age 80 of Manchester, Ga., passed away Thursday, August 10, 2017 at Piedmont-Fayette Hospice in Fayetteville, Ga.
Funeral services will be held 4:00 pm today, Sunday, August 13, at the Chapel of First Baptist Church in Manchester, followed by interment in the Manchester City Cemetery.
Mrs. Mayfield was born October 1, 1936, in Manchester, Ga., the daughter of James Guy Presley and Annie Lois Reeves Presley. She was a 1954 graduate of Manchester High School and retired after many years' service as the head cashier for the A&P Grocery in Manchester. She later retired as the insurance clerk for Smith-Collins Physician's Clinic in Manchester and also worked a number of years for The Boutique in Warm Springs. Mrs. Mayfield was a lifelong member of the First Baptist Church in Manchester and throughout her life, loved to travel. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother-in-law, Garnett Cone.
Survivors include her husband of 62 years, Raymond Mayfield of Manchester; three sons and eight grandchildren as follows; Randy (Kathleen) Mayfield, of Yorktown, Virginia, and their children Alea, Rhiannan and Gabrielle; Scott (Kippy) Mayfield of LaGrange, Ga., and their children, Alex, Nick and Elena; and Ric (Lori) Mayfield, of Atlanta, Ga., and their children, Emma and Ellie; a sister, Pat Cone, of Pine Mountain, Ga.; an aunt, Shirley Steele, of Fayetteville, Ga.; and several nieces and nephews, including a special niece and nephew, Millie Cook and Guy Cone.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to either the First Baptist Church, P. O. Box 528, Manchester, Ga 31816 or the Georgia Baptist Children's Home, 2821 US Highway 19, Meansville, GA 30256.

Buster worked with her at the A & P store in Manchester, GA... she was like a Mother to both of us... we loved her, she had the sweetest soft voice, she will be missed by so many!!
