Columbus, Georgia- Carrie Will Psalmond Butler, 78, of Columbus, Georgia died Friday, July 14, 2017 at Midtown Medical Center. Funeral Services will be held 12 Noon Friday, July 21, 2017 at St. James CME Church with Rev. Lavisha Williams pastor officiating, Bishop Dr. Thomas L. Brown, Eulogist. Interment will follow in Ft. Mitchell National Cemetery according to Sconiers Funeral Home, 836 5th Ave., Columbus, GA. Visitation will be 1- 5 PM followed by a family hour from 5- 7 PM, Thursday, July 20, 2017 at the funeral home. Carrie Will Psalmond Butler was born November 9, 1938 in Columbus, GA, to the late Butts Psalmond and Hannah McBride-Psalmond. She was a member of St. James CME Church for over 70 years. She served on the Stewardess Board, The Willing Workers, The Inspirational Choir, and The Hannah-Psalmond Missionary. Mrs. Butler was a 1956 graduate of William H. Spencer High School . She was employed by Bellsouth (AT&T) and retired with 35 years of service. Carrie was married to the late Arthur "Brad" Butler for 47 years. In addition to her parents and her husband; she was also preceded in death by her siblings; two brothers, Curtis Psalmond and S.L. Hobbs, four sisters, Annie Hunter, Beatrice Hawkins, Dolly Byrd Holley and Louise Psalmond. She leaves to cherish her memory and continue her legacy, three devoted daughters whom she adored, Mirchelle Whaley Plummer of Columbus, GA, Pandora Butler Lloyd and husband, Jeffery of Atlanta, GA, and Vickie Butler McCall and husband, Darryl Sr. of Birmingham, AL, a loving step-daughter, Valerie Renee Barge of Columbus, GA, four grandchildren, Brandon Whaley, Karris Whaley, Darryl McCall II and Terrance Barge, wife Quavatta and their children, Ashley Barge and Jordan Barge, Loving nieces, nephews, cousins and an abundance of other friends.
