Catherine Turpin Obituary

Catherine Turpin

September 7, 1935 - May 9, 2025

Fayetteville, North Carolina - Catherine (Cathy) Taylor Turpin, 89, of Fayetteville, passed away on May 9, 2025.

She was born in Columbus, Georgia on September 7, 1935, to the late Clay and Dorothy Taylor. Also, preceding Cathy in death were her husband of 63 years, LTC Robert Paul Turpin; brother, Clay Taylor and her niece, Dorothy Elizabeth DesPortes.

Cathy loved her sweets, especially Donettes, buckeyes and any kind of chocolate. She also enjoyed pulling for her Atlanta Braves, Dallas Cowboys and University of Georgia Bulldogs.

She was an elementary school teacher, devoted military wife and mother.

She and her husband loved to vacation at Myrtle Beach inviting their kids and grandkids to join. Many special trips will be fondly remembered.

Left to cherish Cathy's memory are her two sons, Paul Turpin (Penny) and Clay Turpin (Alison); three grandchildren, Amy, DeBow, and Spencer; sister Dorothy Taylor DesPortes (WL), brother Bobby Taylor (Mimi) and other extended family.
