Phenix City, Alabama - On Saturday, April 30, 2022, Christopher Lee Sheets, loving husband, passed away at the age of 53 at Emory University Hospital due to complications from Congestive Heart Failure.
Christopher was born on July 15, 1968 to Gary and Diane (Foster) Sheets. He was a 1986 graduate of LaGrange High School and graduated Magna Cum Laude from Mercer University in 1990 with a degree in English Literature. He worked as a Senior Copy Editor for 20 years at the Columbus Ledger Enquirer and prior to that as a News Editor at Americus Times Recorder for 4 years. He was a gifted writer and poet. He was an avid tabletop and computer gamer.
Christopher was preceded in death by his father, Gary and his Mother, Diane. He is survived by his wife, Tracey Lee Sheets. His sister, Vikki Stringham, her husband Kevin Stringham and their daughters, Kate and Emily Stringham. His Sister in law Jill Arnold, her husband, Wade Arnold and their son, Ethan Arnold. His Sister in law, Kasey Willis and her fiancé, Tyler Wright.
A lunch/service will be held on July 2 at 1 pm. Fountain Church, 107 Mallory Dr., LaGrange, Ga.

Christopher was my news editor at the ATR. He was so talented as a writer and had a keen wit. I enjoyed knowing and working with him. We remained in touch for many years. Prayers for his family.
