Phenix City, AL- Dale Lavern Wink, 69 of Phenix City, AL was called home to eternal rest Saturday February 12, 2011 at his home with his loving wife Jewell by his side.
Memorial services with Military Honors will be held 2:00 pm EST Wednesday February 16, 2011 at Vance Memorial Chapel in Phenix City with Chaplain Sharon Smith officiating. A private interment will take place at a later date. The family will receive friends on Wednesday one hour prior to the memorial service at the funeral home.
Mr. Wink was born October 5, 1941 in Correctionville, IA and was the son of the late Mhynard Louis John Wink and Eva Fosnot Schmidt. He honorably served his country for three years in the United States Army. He was employed with Steve Corbitt Construction for over ten years where he was a foreman. He enjoyed spending time with his family, fishing and was a lifelong fan of the University of Alabama.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his three brothers, Mhynard "Junior" Wink, Burton Wink and Larry Schmidt.
He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Jewell Smith Wink of Phenix City, AL; three daughters, Terry Sizemore and husband Mark of Phenix City, AL, Linda Robinette of Cusseta, GA and Annette Wink of Phenix City, AL; two sisters, Clarissa Porter of Eagle Creek, OR and Eva Weinberger of Portland, OR; seven grandchildren, Tonya Kacer, Christopher Wink (Cristy), Thomas Robinette, Stephanie Kacer, Erica Richardson (Robert), Casey Elliott and Christy Robinette; seven great grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family request donations to the Columbus Hospice House or the John B. Amos Cancer Center.
Mr. Wink will be greatly missed by all who knew him, but will forever be with everyone in spirit especially during football season when we all say "Roll Tide Roll"!
