Smiths Station, Alabama - Mr. Douglas Burks, 78, of Smiths Station, AL passed Wednesday, June 7, 2023 in Smiths Station, AL. Graveside service will be held 10:00 a.m. EST, Wednesday, June 14, 2023 at Evergreen Memorial Park, Columbus,GA with Rev. Cornell Battle, officiating, Rev. Dr. Timothy Reynolds, eulogist. Visitation is Tuesday, June 13, 2023 from 11-5 p.m. EST according to Taylor Funeral Home, Inc.
Mr. Burks was born September 24, 1944 in Columbus, GA to the late Samuel Burks and the late Albert Reese Burks.He was a 1964 graduate of Carver High School and retired from Bickerstaff Trucking Company.
Survivors include a devoted friend, Jessie Floyd; one brother, Clarence (Cora) Burks; one aunt, Emma Reese; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Please visit www.thetaylorfuneralhome.com to sign the online guest registry.
