Phenix City, AL, AL- Edna Lois Thomas Eldridge, 84, of Phenix City, AL, passed away Wednesday June 15. 2011 at Franciscan Woods in Columbus, GA.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00am EST, Saturday June 18, 2011 at Vance Memorial Chapel, with Rev. Brad McDaniel officiating . The family will receive friends this evening from 6:00 until 8:00 EST at the funeral home.
Mrs. Eldridge was born on March 11, 1927 in Coffee County , AL and was the daughter of Richard Coley Thomas and Mamie Easter Thomas. She retired after twenty six years of service at Sunshine Biscuits and was a member of New Beginnings Church in Phenix City, AL.
Other than her parents, she is preceded in death by her daughter, Margret Ann Eldridge, a son James Lamar Eldridge and three brothers.
She is survived by her daughter Catina Denise Eldridge Morgan of Phenix City, AL ; two sons Earnest Eldridge of Phenix City , AL and James Lamax Eldridge and wife Charlotte of Smiths Station, AL and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

I lived next door to Mrs. Edna and I loved her so much. She was like a Grandmother to me. I miss her and think of her often. She was a sweet, wonderful Christian woman. I know she is with her Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ and her family and friends. I will see her again one day. Love, Teresa Goodson

I have such fond memories of Mrs.Edna,Lamar,and Catina.We were neighbors,and friends.Mrs.Edna was truly a blessing,and a strong Christian.She is walking the streets of gold with Lamar in heaven now.She will always be in our hearts.In Christian Love and Prayer,Teresa & Johnny Goodson

Ms. Edna, i only knew you for a little amount of time.. I loved to go with buffy & tina to visit you & lamar... im gonna miss helping buffy pick out notepads & markers for lamar, & also i will miss fixing you a cup of Sprite whenever you were thirsty! you & lamar both have such Beautiful souls & views on life.. you will never be forgotten, but always missed. When i reach heavens gates, i'll be sure to search for you & lamar.. as well as my loved ones. I loved hearing about you & lamar from buffy & tina, & i loved comming with them to visit all the time too. Now you both are finally living the life of angels.. the part of life we all dream of having... God bless!

My prayers to all in the family that loved both Lamar & Ms. Edna... Some words of wisdom from my Grandfather which he told me many years ago before his death in 74... "The person is never really gone if you keep them alive in your heart" ... I've said these words to my daughter Elizabeth many times over the years ... may these words find comfort to you all that will miss Ms. Edna and Lamar... know that they are together in the gardens of Heaven walking with God....

My thoughts and prayers are with the Eldridge family and my Thomas family. I'm blessed to have been able to see Aunt Edna a few times in my life, but sorry I didn't get to see her on a recent trip. Aunt Edna, please say hello to my Dad, AJ and Myron and tell them how much I miss them. So sorry I will not be able to make the trip to Columbus but send my love and prayers.

Although I was never able to truly meet her and know her, I know how special she was to her family and much she will be missed. I pray that her family will be comforted by the thought that she is now with Lamar. My prayers and thoughts are with all of the family.

My Thoughts and prayers are with the Eldridge Family, I feel like you all are and extended family of mine. I been knowing the Eldridge family for about 26 yrs. Mrs. Eldridge use to keep my son, she was a very good women. I loved her like a Grandmother. I will miss her but I know she is in Heaven. I Love You all. God bless you and be with you all.
