Dacula, Georgia - It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Eleanor Grace Penton, Christian wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, who passed away peacefully on Friday, June 6, 2025 at the age of 91 years old. She was born on May 15, 1934 in Columbus, Georgia. She was a graduate of Columbus High School. Grace was married to Col. Ben H. Penton for 73 years. They had 4 daughters, Leigh, married to Dr. J. Melvin Deese, Cissy Harty, Marcia, married to Stan Milner, and Benita, married to Stephen Graham. Grace was very proud of her 12 grandchildren including one Angel in Heaven, and 18 great-grand children. Beyond her family, Grace was a pillar of her community. She was a wonderful supportive military wife, during all phases of Ben's career, including The Army's Command and General Staff College. She was a volunteer for many years with the American Red Cross, she served her Church, and many other community projects. She had many talents - sewing and cooking, and she loved fishing. Grace lived a life filled with strength, and compassion. She dedicated herself to her family, nurturing each with unwavering love and support. Her home was always a sanctuary of warmth where her recipes brought everyone together, and her stories wove the fabric of our shared history. She was very much a cherished friend, whose love and wisdom enriched our lives immeasurably in many ways. Her legacy of love and faith will continue to inspire us every day. The funeral service to celebrate the life of Eleanor Grace Penton was held on Tuesday, June 17, 2025 at Tom M. Wages Snellville Chapel, Snellville, GA.
