Phenix City, AL- Emily C. Davis, 68, of Phenix City, AL passed away Friday, December 11, 2015 in the comfort of her home.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 am EST Monday, December 14, 2014 at Lakewood Baptist Church with Pastor Wayne Williams officiating. A private interment will follow at Lakeview Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends this evening (Sunday) from 6:00 to 9:00 pm EST at Vance Memorial Chapel in Phenix City.
Emily was born July 6, 1947 in Columbus, GA, daughter of the late James F. Carpenter and Margie Cain Carpenter. She was a graduate of Central High School, and the first graduate of CVCC. Emily graduated from Auburn University in 1975 with a degree in business education. She taught at Berry High School in Vestavia, AL and became employed by Xerox Corporation in 1976. She became a sales representative for Xerox and won numerous awards for her performance, and on two occasions was the number one representative in America. She later became a regional agent manager for Xerox and retired in 2004. Emily loved sales and became a real estate agent for Shepherd Brokers, she later became a real estate broker and partner of Shepherd Brokers and opened a second office in Columbus, GA. Emily was very active in her community and worked on several projects to help beautify and clean the city.
She is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 48 years, Kenny Davis of Phenix City, AL, son, Ken Davis Jr. and wife Lisa of Phenix City, AL, two sisters, Janice C. Henderson Warren and husband Ernie of Phenix City, AL, and Kathy C. Coleman and husband Harris of Sawyerville, AL, one brother, Jimmy Carpenter and wife Lynda of Stockbridge, GA, two granddaughters, Alle Ann and Kerilyn, numerous other loving family members and many caring friends.
