Seale, AL- Mrs. Emma Mae Bellamy, 87, of 196 Padgetts Rd. Seale, AL passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 30, 2011 in Atlanta, GA.
Funeral services will be noon Saturday, May 7, 2011 at Uchee Chapel AME Church in Seale, AL. The Rev. Willie J. Harley, Pastor, will officiate and burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be today from noon until 7 pm, according to Sconiers Funeral Home, 836 5th Ave. Columbus.
Mrs. Bellamy was born November 22, 1923 in Birmingham, AL, the daughter of the late Clarence and Donia Lamb Harris. Mrs. Bellamy was a member of the Uchee Chapel AME Church of Seale, AL and it's Missionary Society. She honorably served her country in World War II as an Army WAC and worked at Mercy Hospital in Chicago, IL for twenty five years. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Vanessa Bellamy and her husband William T. Bellamy.
Survivors include a son, Everett Bellamy, JD, of Silver Springs, MD, four daughters, Marlene Bellamy and Francene Bellamy, PhD. both of Chicago, IL, Felicia Bellamy of Seale, AL, and Dr. Sonya (Dr. James Jr.) Bellamy-Adkins of Atlanta, GA, a sister, Dorothy H. Tolliver of Columbus, four grandchildren, Vanessa Moore, Michelle Moore, James M. Adkins III, and Erica Adkins, and other loving relatives and friends.
