Jack H. Cook, Sr. June 20, 1929 - December 27, 2008 FORTSON, GA — Jack H. Cook, Sr., 79, of Fortson passed away Saturday, December 27, 2008 at his residence. Graveside services will be held 11:00 a.m. Thursday, January 1, 2009 at Pierce Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery with Reverend Howard White officiating. Visitation will be held Wednesday, December 31, 2008 from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at McMullen Funeral Home, 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus. Mr. Cook was born June 20, 1929 in Dothan, Alabama the son of the late Essie Kornegay Cook and Mike Cook. He was the owner and operator of Jack Cook Builders of Columbus and Cook Timber Producers in Ellaville, Ga. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Cook. Survivors include his son Jack Cook, Jr. and wife Sheila of Columbus; sisters, Jean McCord and husband Charles Ray and Sue Long and husband Bob, both of Dothan, AL; sisters-in-law, Margie Bonsal and husband Gary of San Jose, CA, Sarah Wall and husband Wiley of Ellaville, GA, Patty Crabb and husband Gary of Columbus; brothers-in-laws, Charles Turner and wife Shirley of Phenix City, AL, David Turner and wife Silvia of North Augusta, SC; granddaughter, Kristen Cook Straf and husband Scott and one great grandson Ethan Scott Straf all of Sterling, VA.
