I was deeply saddened to learn of Smokey's passing. East Wynnton Lane will not be the same without him. He was my brother's (Ken "Billy Boy" Cowling) lifelong friend and after we suffered the loss of my brother, Smokey regularly checked in on my mother...I will forever be grateful to him for that. He had a heart of gold and he will be truly missed. I pray that your memories of him bring comfort to your family during this difficult time.

Sincerely,
Anna Cowling Chaffin

Jeffery was one of the finest men you could ever meet. He never met a stranger and always had a beautiful smile and a kind work for anyone. He was a gentleman and was most polite and respectful to all. He will certainly be missed by all who knew him. A great sense of humor coupled with high intelligence made him a unique expert in relation to dealing with people and restoring fine antiques as well. He appreciated beauty and recognized quality. He was my friend who could be depended upon completely.

I met Jeff at Southern Junior High School in the early 1970's. Although I didn't see him much after this he remained a good friend who was always upbeat and laughing. May God bless the family during this time.
